Each Other, a new language for a new contamination: the Urban Mood.
The story of Andrea Casotti, currently CEO of CFF, with a past as a writer, and the artist KayOne, writing pioneer in Milan, is one populated by underground culture, their creations which are still visible today in many areas of the northern Italian metropolis, and friendship thanks to their shared passion for this modern art form. Andrea Casotti: “Each Other is a tribute to my city, Milan, where everything first began. An original tale, with references to street art, intercepted inspirations, unwritten rules and a strong sense of belonging to the crew.”
Each Other is the expression of the immense energy and pictorial talent of KayOne as well as Andrea Casotti’s flair. It is a powerful fragrance, as is the writer’s mark, revealing the new tale of THoO.
The exclusive canvass for THoO by KayOne is large in size and features bold colours, overlapping textural layers, a symbol of the passing of time. It bears a clear reference by the artist to walls and everything this type of surface is capable of recounting, laden with images, words and symbols. The artist wanted to recount his own personal vision of the brand, the solid base of The House of Oud, and the recent contemporary opening THoO, different souls of the brand like those of its founder, Andrea Casotti.
KayOne describes this experience: “The street has its own colours, flavour, perfume. For me it has always been a place brimming with energy, just like the one I found in Graffiti Writing I put all of this into my painting for THoO and the perfume Each Other. A flash, the strength and desire to strike a chord with the spectator, like a large wall on the street. But there’s more, the harmony and balance of those who like Andrea are capable of distilling the story of our passion on trains, walls, in life, into a fragrance.”
Andrea Casotti: “I’m convinced that you don’t decide to become a “writer”, it is writing which chooses to become a part of you. At the time Milan for me was enormous, it was a crucible of talents scattered throughout the city’s neighbourhoods, we could see works by other crews, which enabled my contamination with different ideas and styles. I was overcome by a powerful creative energy I couldn’t do without. “
The olfactory pyramid of Each Other is linked to the city which represents both protagonists. A decisive fragrance connected to the Milanese experience and life of both virtuous talents. The perfumer Cristian Calabrò worked with Andrea Casotti on the olfactory translation of the fourth chapter for THoO and describes it as follows: “Each Other is an urban perfume which is virile, strong, laden with inspirations and sensations, from the underground movement, subterranean atmospheres, social evenings in the bustling capital, to street culture. A fragrance in which the lemon and grapefruit zest mingles with aromatic herbs, just like in a cocktail which accompanies an electric Milanese night out. Wormwood and calamus paint a “bitter” background characterised by dark tonalities, the dark side of the crew. Lastly, the warm notes of labdanum and the more luminous and dryer ones of vetiver remind us of nocturnal lighting, scenographies of incursions of this immensely fascinating artistic current.”
